The Cram Foundation (Cram) has provided disability care and support since 1932. They pride themselves on high quality care and support for people with a disability who have high or complex care needs, living in the Illawarra region. Services include personal care, housing, disability transport and recreational activities.

Since the rollout of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) in July 2017, Cram became a registered provider under the NDIS and offer support as part of the NDIS funding package and plan. With this new national approach, Cram were seeking a trusted supplier to redevelop their website, assist with social media marketing and run some Google AdWord campaigns.

Internetrix were lucky enough to meet the Cram team at a local event hosted by the Illawarra Women in Business. Internetrix awarded Cram a complimentary website audit and review, which helped Cram to understand the importance of their digital presence in achieving their business goals. 

The Brief

The Cram website needed to be WCAG 2.0 AA Compliant, and diverse enough to cater the needs of a wide range of audiences. This was to include people with a disability, family members or carers, health care professionals and people wanting to get involved. The website was to prepare Cram to be NDIS ready, improve the general design and UX, and be responsive and mobile ready. 

Furthermore, Cram required help in setting up a branded Facebook and YouTube account, after noticing how social media has fundamentally changed the way we are connecting and communicating. This will not only increase the visibility of the brand, but develop and grow relationships with clients.

Internetrix also educated Cram on the Non-profit Google Ad Grant funding, which resulted in the desire of some Google AdWord campaigns (planning and management).

The Outcome

In response, Internetrix built a clean, attractive and well structured website which allowed users to easily navigate and seek the information they are after. The features and functionalities of the website included:

Built on the SilverStripe CMS, a total of 11 page types were designed and developed to serve these requirements and functionality.

Internetrix successfully managed and administered the application process for the Google Ad Grant on behalf of Cram, which provided access to the Google Ad Grant funding of $10,000 a month of in-kind advertising budget in Google AdWords. After conducting a campaign objective analysis meeting/workshop, Internetrix was able to align the digital campaign efforts with Cram’s 2017 goals and strategy, and deliver one (1) month of campaign services for two (2) Google AdWords campaigns funded by the Google Ad Grant.

Furthermore, Internetrix registered and setup corporate Facebook and YouTube accounts for Cram. A total of 3 social posts were researched, drafted and scheduled for posting on Cram’s behalf. These techniques were then passed onto the Cram team in a training session, for future management and administration.

Since Go Live on 16th May 2017, in 7 months the website has received approximately 1,500 users generating 5,326 pageviews. The users are navigating on an average 2.5 pages each time they visit and spend an average 2.07 minutes, which is a significant improvement from the previous website.

The website content can now be managed by multiple people in the Cram team, ensuring fresh and updated copy on a regular basis. Social media channels are also in full swing, receiving ‘Likes’ and ‘Followers’ everytime posts are made. The Cram Foundation have also noticed a significant improvement to their Digital Presence:
