Accessibility - WCAG 2.1
Internetrix is a WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) accredited agency and works with departments and individuals to provide a single shared standard for web content accessibility.
Internetrix is a Department of Human Services panel approved Web Content Accessibility Guidelines service provider - and one of only nine WCAG suppliers in Australia, which means that we understand the importance of web accessibility, WCAG compliance and government web accessibility.
Our WCAG 2.1 compliance follows 12 guidelines organised under four principles: perceivable, operable, understandable and robust as well as at all three levels, A, AA, AAA.
Internetrix aim to produce inclusive web content that provides access to a wider range of individuals including those with disabilities such as blindness, low vision, hearing loss, learning disabilities, cognitive limitations, movement limitations, speech disabilities, photosensitivity, colour blindness and combinations of these.
Businesses with WCAG compliance are providing website content that is more usable to a wider audience.
How Internetrix will ensure that your website is compliant with WCAG directives:
To ensure that your website is WCAG compliant in this area, web content is changed to other formats to suit the needs of individuals with visual impairments. These web content changes ensure that a better experience is provided through the inclusion of font size increases, braille, speech, symbols and simpler language.
In order to do this as part of WCAG compliance, all fonts must be readable and always provide a CSS alternative. Fonts must also be smaller than 14 points to have good legibility contrast.
When using time-based media such as video, slideshows or audio in your website, it is encouraged to provide a transcript about the featured media.
All website content should be easily accessible to navigate using keyboard shortcuts.
Internetrix create intuitive design or intuitive interface suggestions as part of all WCAG audits to provide a better user experience and navigation that bridges the knowledge gap.
WCAG audits highlight timed animation and transition issues, thereby ensuring that all animations and slideshows are timed to deliver the content effectively to users.
Our WCAG compliance services ensure that websites are compatible with alternative technologies, including assistive technologies.
As part of the design process for businesses looking for a WCAG compliant website, Internetrix will create a conscious design, keeping content legible and easy to understand with an assurance that information is translated when converted to text only.
Internetrix can provide a full service WCAG website design and development solution or simply provide businesses with a WCAG audit and compliance certification.
