Keeping staff abreast of anything in the intranet that changes is the key role payed by the customisable RSS Alerts module. Using any standards based RSS reader; the user can authenticate with Nucleus and receive notifications of the latest changes that affect their personal profile.

Staff members will only receive alerts about pages that have been added or edited that match the permissions that person has been assigned, or any categories of information they have subscribed to. The message displayed to the user will alert them to which page has been added/edited, when it was edited, and by whom. There will also be a link to the page so that the staff member can follow the link to review the changes.

Staff members have two alert options:
  1. Every time a page that matches their profile is added/edited they will receive an alert.
  2. Only receive an alert when a special alert is sent through the alert interface on a page that matches their profile.

A user can add an alert about a specific page by selecting the alert icon checkbox when editing a page. This is demonstrated in the following screenshot.

Once an alert has been added, a staff member can then proceed to edit the details relating to the new alert. For instance, the user can stipulate what message is sent, and then select the relevant groups that should receive the alert from the list on the right hand side. The edit alert interface is displayed.

Alerts are a valuable way to keep staff up to date with changes to any information in the intranet.
