Nucleus is
able to run on Active Directory security or on its own stand alone
administration and permission interface. Our advice is to have a staff member
be a super user of Nucleus and control permissions to all the different modules
and features.
Active Directory is an offline application
that provides authentication. The server Nucleus is running on would be
configured to use the Active Directory server as an authentication platform
based on a technology called Kerbos. If this option is chosen, it will require
some on-site time, potentially some firewall configuration time, and of course
testing time, as it is using external authentication (whereas Nucleus generally
uses its own authentication scheme which is simpler for Nucleus to implement as
it controls the whole process). The time required would relate specifically to
network topology of the AD server environment, as well as the location that Nucleus
is hosted.
