August 2003
The month of August has delivered so many dramas in the online world that many of us have wished to return to the stone tablet or carrier pigeon for communications. Two rampant viruses, MiMail and MS Blaster surfaced within days of each other, devastating computer users the world over. And if you have an internet banking account with Westpac, we hope you didn’t follow the instructions in the very convincing and well-crafted hoax email sent by international criminals attempting to break into your account through the front door. And at least we live in a part of the world where we at least had the option to turn our computers off, unlike many millions in North America!
Still, with all of this doom and gloom, it is good to know there are ways that technology continues to make our lives better!
David Clarke, our Interactive Designer, is at the forefront of these initiatives, completing a certification that recognises him and Internetrix in the Top 15 Australian companies using Flash as a development tool.
If you have ever found yourself frustrated by an experience with a phone company but felt like there was nothing you could do about it, you are certainly not alone. This month we show you a new way that not many people know about to get the levels of service from Telstra that you deserve – we show you how to turn your frustration into action.
Making a difference is a theme of another important development this month – if you live in the Illawarra or Sydney, make sure you check out the story on the online petition to state government, and if you have a spare 30 seconds, take the time to fill it in.
Finally this month, we have details on our new proof-reading service – how did your site fare in our audit – and some extra features to introduce related to our new website, www.internetrix.net that you can take advantage of on your website to build a relationship with visitors.
Internetrix Interactive Designer, David Clarke, was this month certified as a ‘Macromedia Flash MX Developer’, one of only 14 professionals in Australia to earn this demanding level of accreditation ...
Influencing government policy is something that most of us leave up to special interest lobby groups and talkback radio jocks.
You may remember from our March newsletter the announcement of a new proofreading service for our clients.
They say there are two things in life you can’t avoid – death and taxes. In Australia, we could probably add a third: phone companies.
Imagine you had a shop that had 200 people per day come in and have a look around.
