Internetrix was announced as the 2007 Illawarra Business of the
Year at a gala dinner before a 1000 strong audience of the region's leading
business people.
The Integral Energy Illawarra Business Awards were held on Friday the 16th of November and are regional
Australia's largest business awards, this year attracting over 100 entries spanning 18
categories.
In addition to the Business of the Year, the highest
accolade for businesses in the Illawarra region, Internetrix was also named the
winner in the Information and Communications Technology category earlier in the
evening.
The Illawarra region, which stretches from the southern
outskirts of Sydney to Bateman's Bay in the south encompasses regional centres such as Wollongong,
Nowra and Bowral, along with many smaller centres that are home to a combined population of over 400,000 people.
Category winners on the night came from a diverse cross section of prestigious companies. A complete list is available from the Illawarra Business Chamber.
"This award reflects the high calibre of the work we
do, including our association with Google, our diversification into customer
and service management applications, as well as our world class expertise"
said Geoff McQueen, Managing Director of Internetrix. "This recognition is
a great credit to our staff, who've worked so hard to turn a small company into an internationally competitive player."
Previous winners of the Business of the Year award include Seawind Catamarans, who deliver world class luxury catamarans to the global market, and Infocomp, who were recently acquired by
listed technology company GBST Holdings for $50m.
